Recent Doings

Trimming bushes

Building a self-watering garden

Using his new router

We've also been painting the loft as well as ordering fabric for the wingback chairs.  Of course, the fabric, which was supposed to arrive a few weeks ago, has been backordered and won't arrive until mid to late-May.  Boo.

We settled on this one. Eventually, we'll get around to actually doing something about it.

But for now, I'm getting ready for mine and Will's trip to Utah!  Woohoo!

A Little Saturday Jaunt

The day before Grant's birthday we headed out for a little bike ride.

We headed along to Mary Carter Greenway Trail.  We followed it up the Platte River for a few miles where we found lunch in downtown Littleton.

We had lunch at a little place called Merle's.  It was super tasty.

Will had a tasty lunch as well.

He doesn't quite understand the bottle-tipping process yet so we have to help him out.

It was a perfect day.

Growin' Some Teeth

This is a sad attempt to send Bma some pictures of Will's new teeth.  He has four whole teeth these days!  The two middle on the bottom, one middle tooth on the top, and then the tooth next to the middle tooth on the other side.  (Figure that one out!)

Forgive the scary no-makeup, undone hair face behind the adorable baby...

The Makings of a Great Weekend

We had an incredible weekend.  Grant had Friday off of work because of Good Friday.  Then Sunday was Grant's birthday and Easter.  We celebrated three days straight.

The weather was beautiful so Friday we headed up to Deer Creek Canyon Park for a nice little hike.  The park is part of Jefferson County Open Space, (which to me, means free).  We also drove around the homes near the park... Holy cow.  I've found a new dream home location...

We took Will in his new stroller.  We got it for $30 at a garage sale last week.  I love garage sale-ing...

For the first part of the hike we followed the Meadowlark Trail.  It overlooks a big Lockheed Martin site.  Who wouldn't want to work out there?!

Spring flowers! (Even despite the lack of April showers here in Denver...)

It was a beautiful hike but it was super windy.  I had visions of Will's stroller being blown off the trail and tumbling down the mountain...

The Meadowlark trail ended when it ran into another trail.  So instead of backtracking, we decided to follow the new trail out.

It was a bit rocky...  Grant was a master stroller driver, but next time we'll probably forgo the wheels and carry the little bubba.

Will was a great sport though.  He slept for the better part of an hour and was in good spirits when he woke up.

He liked using his daddy's camelbak but had a hard time keeping the water in his mouth.

The view on the way down.

All around it was a great hike.  A 2.6 mile hike with great views, doable (if not simple) with a jogging stroller, only 30 minutes from home.  Oh, and a happy bubba.

The Scooter

Will is officially a scooter.  He sees what he wants (usually something that could electrocute him...) and he goes to get it.

I love this smile-- a hard one to get on camera!

He's almost 9 months (can you believe it?!).  He's a great eater and a great sleeper.  We got lucky.

The Search for Sanity: Update

Botox went through with the insurance & I have scheduled my first appointment for the end of this month!  It's not going to be cheap, but definitely worth a try.

What's Happenin'

We've been busy projecting around the house lately.  I can't say we have much to show for it right now... except a messy house.   But here's what's in the works:

-Painting the loft
-Building a self-watering, raised garden bed in the backyard
-Spray-painted the candlesticks for the mantle
-Bought fabric to reupholster the wingback chairs

My brain is a little overwhelmed, but I'm excited about how everything will (hopefully) turn out.
