Oh wow. It really has been too long. I posted last in January... and it was a post about September...
Honestly, I think the main reason I took such a long break was because I wasn't quite ready to write this next post. The post about rock climbing in Upstate New York, the "Gunks". The post about the people I met there, fellow cancer survivors, and what the time Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09337169635576938613noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890825658719052399.post-14540834095667315502014-01-13T07:00:00.000-07:002014-01-13T07:00:02.186-07:00On My Own: My NYC Adventure
At the end of September, I had a fantastic opportunity to attend a First Descents rock climbing camp in upstate New York. Camp was amazing, (as usual, but I'll post on that later), but before camp I decided to spend a few days in good old NYC. I had never been there before and was excited to wander around by myself.
While riding the bus into the city from the airport, I metAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09337169635576938613noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890825658719052399.post-72296257471600277592014-01-07T08:00:00.000-07:002014-01-09T21:25:25.797-07:00South Valley Park
Still back in September, we headed out for a Saturday hike to South Valley Park, part of the Jefferson County Parks system with similar, though less dramatic, scenery to Roxborough Park, one of our favorites. While the red rocks at South Valley aren't quite as exciting as Roxborough, it was free (woohoo!). Roxborough is a state park and is around $10 a car to get in.

Back when the air was warm and we didn't need snow boots (late September, maybe?)... we headed to the Denver Temple grounds for a little family night.
The cell phone in my pocket gave me a nice booty-boost in this picture. I've never looked so bootylicious!
Will had a blast rolling around on the grass with Daddy.
We love the temple and we love family time!

So.... back in September... we headed out to a new (to us) park, Belleview Park. We had heard great things about the train and petting zoo and Will was excited. Our friends, the Cranes, were meeting us there, but we got there early and Will ran around by himself for a bit.
Looking for the train...

The last weekend in July, we met up with Uncle Robbie & Aunt Katie (cute little newlyweds!) for a few days camping. We looked for a campsite halfway between Provo & Denver and found Jumbo Campground outside of Mesa, CO.
We traded off meals-- Uncle Reebee cooked up some yummy coke chicken the first night.
Grant brought his new hammock and hung out with Baby Will.

A few weeks ago, we headed out for a hike up to Devil's Head, home of the last working fire lookout station in Colorado.
It was 2.8 miles round trip and Willister hung out in the backpack most of the way up. He likes it pretty well, (no screaming or fighting), but sure doesn't mind when it's time to get out!

July is birthday month around here. Will turned two on July 14th and I turned twenty-five on the 18th. Last year we went all out for Will's 1st birthday. It probably had something to do with the fact that I was still in recovery from surgery with nothing to do for the 4 weeks leading up to his big day... Anyway, this year we scaled back and threw a little family party at Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09337169635576938613noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2890825658719052399.post-15687274481089517462013-08-21T12:57:00.000-06:002013-08-21T13:03:37.373-06:00Fourth of July
It indeed happened over a month ago... but here's the recap of our 4th of July.
We headed to Town Center for a few adventures. Will loved the carriage ride and the horses.
He got a balloon animal; a dog, of course.
And then we waited in line for the bounce house for 30 minutes.
He was the 1st one in the bounce house and was jumping all over the place...

Sweet little sir has taken quite the liking to broccoli.
On this day, (probably 6 weeks ago...), he found a big head of broccoli in one of the grocery bags and carried it around for a few hours, taking bites off the top whenever it tickled his toddler fancy.
He can certainly be picky when it comes to eating, but for some reason broccoli has made the list.

We've been working on painting our new laundry cabinets (see here), and with all those paint particles in the air, I decided to take Will on a walk to the duck pond.
On our last visit to the pond, he tried to feed the bird milk with his sippy cup...
But mostly he just chases them around...
